Spaying or neutering is recommended at 6 months of age. Our hospital provides spay and neuter services for dogs, cats, rabbits, chinchillas, guinea pigs, and ferrets
You pet is always examined by your veterinarian before any procedure involving anaesthetic. This allows the veterinarian to select the safest anaesthetic protocol for your pet. Pre-anaesthetic blood testing is recommended for all our surgery patients to screen for potential health problems. You should fast your pet the night before surgery. Your pets can have water overnight, but please do not give them any food after 10 pm. Your pet will be admitted to our hospital between 7:30 – 9:00 a.m. the morning of their surgery. Your pet will usually be able to go home on the same day. All animals undergoing spay and neuter surgery are provided with pain control both during and after the surgery.
