Skin conditions can have a number of different causes, including allergies, bacteria, fungal infections, and mites. Some dermatological diseases or conditions require additional diagnostic procedures to ensure a correct diagnosis. Depending on your pet’s symptoms and the results of our physical exam, we may run blood work or perform a skin scraping, or biopsies. Allergies can be confirmed by blood tests, and by food trials.
If you notice any changes in your pet’s skin, you should make an appointment with your veterinarian as soon as possible.
