Laboratory analysis of your pet’s blood, urine, stool, and biopsy samples is a key component in monitoring his or her health, and diagnosing disease. Our hospital is equipped with an in house laboratory with allows us to run blood panels, examine urine and fecal samples, and observe other samples under a microscope. We also often send samples to a laboratory for interpretation by a veterinary pathologist.
We recommend blood testing for all our surgery patients. If your pet has any serious health concerns, your veterinarian may recommend delaying surgery until they can be treated. Health issues identified by the blood work will effect which anesthetic drugs we will use during surgery.
