If your pet has a fracture, we may be able to repair it surgically. Some common surgical techniques involve pinning and plating.
Pinning stabilizes the fracture by inserting a long stainless steel rod into the middle of the bone across the fractured area.
Plating involves attaching a flat stainless steel plate to the bone using screws on either side of the fracture.
Our hospital also performs a number of other orthopedic surgeries to treat skeletal abnormalities and diseases, including femoral head osteotomies, luxating patella surgery, and limb amputations. Certain surgeries, will need to be referred to a board certified specialist.
